The Big Oak Retreat is a great little getaway close to town but feels so secluded and peaceful. The 2+ acre pond is stocked with bass, bream and catfish. Experience evenings by a fire making s'mores and enjoy your morning coffee on the enormous back patio overlooking the serene water. While the property feels vast and large, please only explore the general yard area and perimeter of the pond. The surrounding areas are private property with cameras.

While the 13 acre property seems vast and open with some of the other surrounding areas, please be mindful and do not venture beyond the markers on the property. The surrounding property is private property and is monitored with cameras.

Good to know

This home has undergone extensive renovations in 2025 after the "big oak" in the back yard took down the entire back half of the house. The brand new kitchen is state of the art with Kitchen Aide appliances, custom cabinets and granite countertops. The home still has a rustic appeal with modern necessities. The new expanded master bedroom has a king size bed and the other bedrooms each have a comfy queen beds with fresh linens and plenty of pillows and blankets. Have family that wants to tag along with a camper? There is access to a power pole and water outside to hook up a camper. Sorry, no sewage tap at this time. Enjoy some time on the water in the pedal boat or the kayaks (2 available). There are also floats located in the pond house for your use.

Other Details to Note

We want all of our guests to enjoy the fishing but we don’t want to deplete the population. Please only keep fish you plan to cook and eat in the 2 - 6 pound range. We want the little fish to continue to grow and the big boys to be there for others to catch, take pics and release. Please do your fish cleaning outside. If you have an extra large group, please inquire about the home next door as both can be rented together based on availability. The other home offers 4 bedrooms and 3 baths.
